New Hampshire Artist Cheryl Johnson

      Country Sketches are reproductions of original pen and ink illustrations by New Hampshire artist Cheryl Johnson. Her subjects typically include New England wildlife and country buildings.

      Johnson, owner of a commercial printing company in Campton, NH, is a self-taught artist who draws from life and from photographs, using traditional crow quill nib pens. Each finely-detailed rendering requires many hours of meticulous work.

      Johnson is a contributing illustrator for Natural New England Magazine, a bimonthly periodical published in Portland, Maine. The January/February 2001 issue featured her illustration “Irrepressible Crows” on the cover.
